A Baltimore Tradition

Nelson Precast first began manufacturing precast concrete products in 1952. As the famed marble steps of Baltimore city’s row houses began to decay, precast stairs from Nelson were the preferred choice for both economy and durability. In fact, Nelson steps can be found on almost every street in Baltimore city.

Nelson Precast has drawn on this early experience and has since expanded to become one of the leading producers of custom cast stone and architectural precast in the region. Today our products can be seen throughout the mid-Atlantic region, from New York to Virginia, from Brooklyn to Oriole Park to Richmond.

“After getting into the precast industry, I began to notice patterns of interaction between customers and producers. The same questions, the same problems, and the same complaints. In scaling Nelson Precast from 4 employees in 1,250sqft, my drive was not to improve on these items versus the competitive landscape, but to solve them. “Putting it all together” is the name of that mission. It involved all men, all departments, all machines, a state-of-the-art facility, and the technology to unite it into a single process.

It is our mission at Nelson Precast to produce beautiful and durable cast stone and architectural precast concrete produced to the highest industry standard. To accomplish this objective, we will only utilize the best materials, cutting edge technologies and equipment, the most sophisticated procedures to execute our full commitment in all aspects of production. We execute this charge starting with our technology that touches and integrates all aspects of our operations. We then carry it out with the best trained employees demonstrating specialized skill and commitment to their craft. In all levels of our leadership we have an unrelenting drive for innovation and efficiency, and the tools to quickly move from concept, to trial, to complete integration.”
